I have too many WIPs and it bothers me, but I don't have enough time to spend on them. But this coming weekend I'll be driving far, far away with my girlfriend for a 5-night getaway from my job, my loving family, and my regular life. Of course I'll be taking my laptop, and I plan to write if at all possible! (She tends to sleep in, so I could have some time in the mornings, at any rate!)

Here is the order I plan to work them:

1) Spanks for the Memories (Gingerpilot) - I need to keep posting a chapter every weekend, otherwise I will feel sad. Just posted chapter 13 out of 18, and am mostly done with 14, so that's coming this weekend. There are parts I don't like, though, so I might redo them between now and then. This means I'm about a month away from being done with it! After that I can turn my attention to all my other WIPs!

2) Stays on Peridea - I got some enthusiasm from readers recently when I posted another chapter of this Sabine Wren / Shin Hati story (fandom: Ahsoka TV Show). It had been lingering untouched since October 2023. Eek! I want to finish it just so it's out of my mind.

3) I've been working on a new Gingerpilot story involving a mind wipe drug. I have 3.5 chapters written out of 5. I just need to write a TON more smut (not a hardship for me ...) and then give them their happy ending.

4) I've also been working on a much longer Gingerpilot story that's more about trauma recovery. Some heavier themes, for sure. I've been researching a certain specific injury that I'm planning to inflict on my blorbo so I can write about it accurately. But I want to take my time and be sensitive about it rather than just slapping stuff up on AO3. Then again if I wait too long, I might lose momentum...

5) I signed up for Smut Wars, and my assignment is due August 25! I have a plan for what to write, and it's a new ship for me! Now I just need to write it.

6) I wrote something else for Smut Wars, but it was Non-Con, and in reviewing the request, they don't want Non-Con. So either I scrap and rewrite entirely or just don't give this treat.

7) Uncage Me (KakaIru from Naruto) - Another fic that has been lingering since October. For this one, I need to deal with much heavier themes of domestic abuse, stalking, and horrible stuff like that. Plus I need to write scenes with firemen putting out fires, and have it sound convincing. I don't know how to do that. I think I'll need to watch some documentaries about it. But that's probably not going to happen in the next few weeks.

And I still keep coming up with more ideas that I file away in my ideas document. There are just too many of them!!! 😭

Chapter 1 of what I posted yesterday kicked off my very first comment war, between Shin/Sabine shippers and a lone Ezra/Sabine adherent. I wasn't around for most of it because I was playing in our weekly D&D game, but after I took a look I tried to respond to each side fairly. I added another tag so it's more clear which ship I'm going for here.

All in all, they were fairly civil to each other, although perhaps a bit snarky. People really care about their ships! This was by far the most comments any fic of mine has garnered, and they really weren't about my fic.

Part of me wants to write a sequel to "What Happens on Peridea." Naturally, I would title it "Stays on Peridea" to complete the phrase.

Looking through the Kinktober tags has me thinking HMMMM. I bet I could come up with something.

I just have no time to write, is all, and there are 3 shorter things and a mammoth project in line ahead of it...

In one of my WIPs, "What Happens on Peridea," I wrote a few paragraphs where Sabine Wren tries to distract herself from what's happening to her by imagining herself being sensually touched by Ezra Bridger. I'm not that well informed about Rebels -- my husband watched it when it came out, but I didn't -- so all I knew about the characters was what I've seen in Ahsoka so far. From that, I was assuming Sabine had some sort of yearning for Ezra, and I assumed it was romantic in nature.

A commenter politely brought to my attention that if I'm going to bring up stuff like that in the work, I should tag for it. I assume they meant they really don't want to see that sort of talk; they would want to screen out out.

Why would that be? I Googled, and to my chagrin I found that in canon, Sabine and Ezra are good friends but there is no romance going on whatsoever. Apparently Dave Filoni wanted to write an opposite sex friendship where they really are just friends.

Oops!

I went back and tagged, but now I'm second guessing what I wrote, and thinking about deleting it or changing it so Sabine is not thinking about Ezra at all in that moment, because gross, ewww, she doesn't think of him that way at all!

This is what I get for just assuming things instead of doing things like researching online or asking my husband.
