The dangers of not researching things

In one of my WIPs, "What Happens on Peridea," I wrote a few paragraphs where Sabine Wren tries to distract herself from what's happening to her by imagining herself being sensually touched by Ezra Bridger. I'm not that well informed about Rebels -- my husband watched it when it came out, but I didn't -- so all I knew about the characters was what I've seen in Ahsoka so far. From that, I was assuming Sabine had some sort of yearning for Ezra, and I assumed it was romantic in nature.

A commenter politely brought to my attention that if I'm going to bring up stuff like that in the work, I should tag for it. I assume they meant they really don't want to see that sort of talk; they would want to screen out out.

Why would that be? I Googled, and to my chagrin I found that in canon, Sabine and Ezra are good friends but there is no romance going on whatsoever. Apparently Dave Filoni wanted to write an opposite sex friendship where they really are just friends.

Oops!

I went back and tagged, but now I'm second guessing what I wrote, and thinking about deleting it or changing it so Sabine is not thinking about Ezra at all in that moment, because gross, ewww, she doesn't think of him that way at all!

This is what I get for just assuming things instead of doing things like researching online or asking my husband.
