Smut disappointments

artemisdartChapter 19 of Bloodlines was porn without plot and I think it was not okay for my readers. I am very sad that I let them down. If any of them ever find this post, let me apologize here for any mental trauma I may have inflicted via my kinks!
I don't want to delete the chapter because (1) I really like it and think it's hot, (2) there could be other people who agree and just didn't post a comment about it, (3) others in the future could find it and like it, (4) I think it makes sense for the characters I have previously established in this work, (5) it may awaken a new kink in someone, which is great, and (6) I just don't want to.
I did put a warning at the top of the chapter and I told them to skip to the author notes at the bottom to read a recap of the "plot" of the chapter, for anyone who doesn't want to read the kinky stuff.
Last night I wrote and published chapter 20, in which our heroes are back to their usual form, running around with magical creatures and having adventures. I hope my longtime readers of this fic don't abandon me, but I also noticed one fewer subscriber this morning.
I have to remind myself that I am primarily writing for myself and to put more positive examples of kink out into the world. If other people happen to find it and like it, that's a bonus, but first and foremost this is something I'm doing for me. I've been setting up chapter 19 and thinking about it for over a month, and I really wanted to write it.
For better or for worse, I'm just kinky, I guess.
