Chapter 7 out of 8 of Uncage Me

artemisdartWell, it's been over seven months (!!!) since my last update of Uncage Me, a fic I started in September of 2023... over two years ago... eek! I've pretty much fallen out of the Naruto fandom, but I still want to finish this story.
I had a couple thousand words of it written, and just now I spent another chunk of time finishing up the chapter and posting it. Is it my finest work ever? No. But it's chapter 7 out of 8, so now I just have the happy ending to write and I'll be able to take this one off my to-do list. After months and months of silence I'm not expecting any comments, but who knows -- the Naruto fandom is surprisingly robust.
I'm annoyed with myself for taking so long on this one. Having to research firefighting gear, jargon, and procedures was a barrier, as was figuring out a few ambulance-related snippets -- but none of that is a good enough excuse. The truth was that I just got more interested in other things... but I *do* still want to finish this. Maybe tomorrow and/or Sunday I can knock this one out for good!
