Finished 10 Items or Less!
Oct. 25th, 2025 09:17 pmWhew! I was confused on the day, and thought I had a whole extra day to work on my assignment for 10 Items or Less. But this morning when I double checked the deadline, I found that it was at 9 PM tonight. Whoops -- especially since I had a 2-hour martial arts class, and then needed to shower, dress up fancy, and drive to a "witches' tea" in a far-off suburb -- a date with my lovely and generous girlfriend! And then drive home.
By the time I got home, I had less than 2 hours to write my piece. I posted something shortly after 8 PM, and then just kept editing it and making it longer and better until 9:16 PM, at which point I officially decided it was done.
(I mean, I could always add more. But it gets revealed in less than 12 hours. So I probably won't.)
This one ended up being a little bit tricky for me to get into. I had a hard time deciding whose point of view I should use, and how to start the darn thing. But in the end, I leaned into the angst of the angstier character -- my tried-and-true recipe for being able to write something -- and that helped. Still, I know this wasn't my best work.
