Chapter 22 done!

artemisdartYesterday I got four vaccinations -- flu, COVID, shingles, and pneumonia -- and I had a rough night's sleep because of it. I drifted in and out of a haze of pain, feeling my body flush with fever yet unable to stay warm. It was no fun!
This morning I had some water and coffee, made pancakes for the children and enjoyed one myself, and took some painkiller... and then I was back at it, writing my Gingerpilot chapter for the weekend.
Chapter 22 of Three and a Half Steps is finally done. I put in some overt references to past chapters, but there are also some more subtle parallels or contrasts from previous parts of the story. In this chapter, I particularly liked the contrast in color and spaciousness from Hux's cramped, all-white cell back in the beginning of the story.
Just one more chapter to go! This one will be pure fluff. If I had more energy I'd try to write it today, but I really don't, especially after several hours of grocery shopping.
