My Smut Wars gift!
Sep. 8th, 2025 02:14 pmI got a Gingerpilot work from Smut Wars! This one has a different take on Poe Dameron's state of mind and thought processes than most other fics that feature him.
The story has "morally grey Poe Dameron" as a tag, and it's not wrong.
I thought this fic was hot, unsurprisingly. But also, it made me want to know more about (1) why this Poe is the way he is -- he seems way more aggressive and filled with hate than the Poe I know, so I was wondering if maybe his dad was on Hosnia or something when Hux blew it up? and (2) whether he's really going to just let the New Republic justice system do whatever it does to Hux. When is he going to face his feelings, and what will make that happen?
This version of Hux was much more vocal, open, and trusting than I'm used to, as well. It was almost as though, if Poe turns more cruel and selfish, Hux needs to compensate for that by turning more vulnerable. An interesting narrative choice!
I'm looking through the collection as I have time, and finding some things that I like!

Summary: And then there are lips connecting to his own chapped ones again. But this time Poe is refusing to fight the other in some sort of game they always seem to be playing, but never acknowledge truly, and he is guiding the other in their kiss by pulling at the back of the other man’s neck- effortlessly domineering every moment shared between them.
“I’m going to take you apart, sweetheart.” Poe whispers, warm and hot on Hux’s lips, after he yanks silky hair firmly enough that he can guide the other man’s lips away from his own long enough to breathe.
OR
After the first order is defeated, Poe pays Hux a visit in an interrogation room he is confined in on a rebel base.
OR
If Poe refuses to acknowledge his feelings towards Armitage, they don't exist... right?
