Broke through the wall

artemisdartIt took me 2 weeks to come up with a satisfying six-chapter arc to finish off Three and a Half Steps, but as of around noon on Sunday, I think I finally got it. I ended up merging drafts 2 and 3 to create Draft 4, with all the good parts of both (I hope).
I posted Chapter 15 on Sunday. This morning I knocked out Chapters 16 and 17 -- originally one chapter, but it turned out to be way too long, so I split it in half.
I almost posted the next two chapters immediately, right now -- I love making my audience happy -- but then I realized that I could keep those chapters in the bank for the next 2 weekends, and it will give me some leeway to write other things. That should see me through the 13th, which is great, because I have two pieces due in Enemies to Lovers on Monday the 15th at 2 PM. Realistically, for me that means they're actually due Sunday night the 14th.
I'm so very pleased to have broken through the plotting wall that had stymied me for the past 2 weeks. I feel like this version of the plot includes everything I want, and minimizes the plot holes that earlier drafts suffered from.
Sometimes, it really does pay to take one's time and make sure the story actually hangs together and everyone's past actions and motivations make sense.
Eeeee, I can't wait to post the next 2 chapters of this! I love seeing my readers' excited reactions! Already, just from yesterday's Chapter 15, I have several enthusiastic comments, including:
