Pinch Hit for Smut Wars

... so naturally yesterday I picked up a pinch hit for Smut Wars. It's due this Saturday night, and it's one of the requirements if the exchange is to open on time on September 7.
I already have 2500 words written, and I'm pretty confident I can get to the 'smut' part tonight and maybe even finish off the whole thing.
At the same time, I'm feeling guilty about Three and a Half Steps, which I didn't update this weekend after leaving my readers on a massive cliffhanger. Part of the reason is that I've been workshopping the remaining chapters to ensure that the plot / suspense are drawn out enough, and then resolved in a satisfying enough way. I think my first two drafts of the end plot are pretty good, but I was noodling over potential ideas to tweak it, and I want to have everything locked down before I write the last 6 chapters, since it all needs to hang together.
Plotting out stories is so much work. That's why exchanges like Smut Wars can be a nice change of pace!
