I think I've dialed in the rest of the plot to Three and a Half Steps to the point where I have a good estimate that it will be 20 chapters total. I just posted chapter 12 yesterday, so that means I have about 8 weeks of it left!

I have most of the plot for my Smut Wars contribution set, as well. I need to hit that pretty hard over the next few weeks.

I've also been noodling over some ideas for Live Wire, a fic that has Mitaka/Hux/Techie (from Dredd, the 2012 movie) as the end game. No one else has written this ship before! I am the first! I published the first two chapters, and now I'm switching POV for Chapter 3.

The thing is, I could introduce Kylo Ren as an antagonist that the three have to overcome. I could even add Snoke. Doing so would add at least eight more chapters... because let's be real, big heavy-hitting Force users like those two aren't easily overcome! It would take all of Hux's foresight and planning, Mitaka's mastery of bureacracy, and Techie's technical aptitude for them to even make the attempt. Also, I'm not sure how the plot would go. So I *could* end up writing another big long 100K word epic about it, but let's be real -- no one is out there searching for this triad as a polyship. No one. It has a measly 9 kudos so far, and probably won't get too many more. Do I really want to invest that much time into it, when I could write a few smutty chapters and get it out of my system that way?

Anyway! My curse is to come up with endless 100K-word story ideas that I don't have time to write.

Still need to finish:

Uncage Me -- 2 chapters left, very angsty, then lots of relief, then some smut, finally. This fic is among my top 10 in terms of kudos, and I know that when I finish it I'll get a flood more kudos, so that's motivational.

Six of a Kind -- 1 chapter left. This one has been tricky for me. I feel like I should really read "Phasma" before I write it, since it's Cardinal's POV, and so far my entire knowledge of his character has been drawn from fics by JayneSilver and FridayTheIncarnate... which is great, but I feel like such an imposter in writing his POV myself. I'm also not 100% sure how to get from mean-spirited sexual torment to connected, loving sex.

Cat on a Plasteel Roof -- Not 100% sure about the plot for this one. I see it as a low-key story about recovery from trauma, so not a lot of "things" need to happen. There don't need to be chases, or space battles, or anything like that. We don't even really need an antagonist (although the constant low-level hostility towards Hux on the base would count as one). I just need to show Poe and Millicent the cat helping Hux recover. Something sweet and healing for him, for once.

My Enemies to Lovers assignment -- starting to think about this; it's due in September. I'm tempted to research a whole new period of history just to put my two leads into that AU... Hmmm.
