#lifegoals
Aug. 1st, 2025 08:35 pmI never blogged about one of my most popular fics from last Kinktober. Let's fix that now!
I was honestly so surprised that I couldn't find a fic like this on AO3 already, since to me it seemed like the most natural, obvious thing that anyone who watched the anime would immediately rush off to write. But I couldn't find any that were just like what I imagined, so I had to write it myself.
This fic was the third most popular Kinktober fic of mine, as measured in how many kudos it accumulated in its first 30 days. Number one was Wordplay -- a Marvel TV show fandom fic featuring Yelena Belova / Kate Bishop; number two was Okay With It -- a She-Ra fandom fic featuring Catra/Adora, the most popular ship in the fandom by far; and this was number three.
I still get kudos on this fic now as new people find it. It's currently my eighth most popular fic overall in terms of kudos, at 207, having left both Wordplay and Okay With It in its dust months ago. (They are currently at 131 and 91 kudos, respectively)
I used "Chose Not to Warn" because informed consent was NOT asked for nor given in this interaction, but I feel that calling it full Non-Con isn't quite right either, since Reinhard was *super* into it. Still, he was taken advantage of, poor dear -- which is Non-Con by definition. I feel that adding that warning would cause Dubcon enjoyers to screen it out unnecessarily. Or maybe it wouldn't! To me, there's a categorical difference between dub-con / mistaken identity type shenanigans where the deceived party is very, very willing, and a brutal, violent rape where the violated party receives no pleasure at all. I will read the first one very happily, but I dislike the second type, and I'm certain I'm not the only one.
#lifegoals is certainly not the best thing I've ever written, but I had a vision for what this fic should be, and I wrote my vision. And that's all I can hope to achieve! :)
