No deadlines...
Feb. 26th, 2025 11:01 pmRight now, before my assignment for the May the Fourth Be With You exchange comes through, I have no hard deadlines at all.
It's a weird feeling after having time pressure for the past... Uh... Honestly, I'm not even sure when was the last time I didn't have a deadline. Maybe last spring or summer?
It's strange and freeing. I kind of like it.
Today I wrote chapter 2 of Six of a Kind, but I didn't post it yet, because I want to start waiting a day and doing one more edit before I post things. I think it will improve my product.
I also decided to work on the final two chapters of Stays on Peridea, which I haven't updated since July 2024, and finally get that one complete. After that will be Uncage Me.
It would be great to knock off those two lingering WIPs and focus on more current things before my next assignment comes through.
I'm also planning to sign up for the Hurt/Comfort exchange. Sign-ups open on March 1. I ensured that my blorbo Hux will be in the tag set, in various configurations of ships that appeal to me.
I'm healing well after my surgery, at least so far. It's only been a week. Currently I'm planning to return to work on Monday. Since I work from home, I should be able to ease back into things, resting when needed. I have FMLA time that I can use, if needed, and that's pretty great! I love my job, and I'm so glad I chose a field where I can sit at a desk and use my giant brain, rather than a physically demanding job like my two parents had...
My husband and I finished "The Gentlemen," and it did not end how I expected it to. We started watching "Bodies" on Netflix because one of the actors, Keith Soller, is on "Andor." I find him quite attractive.
In "Andor," he plays a by-the-book member of the corporate police apparatus who won't let a suspicious murder investigation drop. In "Bodies," he plays a by-the-book member of the police force who won't let a suspicious murder investigation drop, and also, he's gay.
