Scraping the bottom of the barrel

For the first time since October began, I'm midway through a day and tomorrow's fic is NOT done. It's giving me the heebie jeebies!

Yes, it's started, but it's not DONE.

Tonight I have martial arts class, but before and after I'll be hitting it hard. At least both days of the weekend are already finished.

But then next week -- argh, next week! I have nothing. Nothing!!! (Well -- I have poem quotations, kinks, and characters picked out, but not an actual word written!) And then the week after, I only have one done.

That's eleven fics to be written. Eleven!!!

I will be creating in a mad scramble all weekend long, I'm sure.

Eek! On the one hand, why do I do this to myself. On the other hand, I love it! The pressure gets my creative juices flowing like nothing else. That's why I join so many challenges.

And on the bright side, with 11 fics to knock out, I should be able to accomplish 2 of my goals at once:

* Naming at least one fic starting with every letter of the alphabet (currently I am missing the letters C, D, I, X, and Z)
* Hitting a million words posted! I'm at 970k currently, and 11 more fics at an average of 2,700 will do it.
