305) Have you ever overheard an amusing piece of someone else's conversation?

My fiancé and I are keeping a list. Here are some of the funny bits of conversation we have overheard. (Unfortunately you can't hear our intonations, which provide a lot of the humor value... but I will try my best to render them in type.)

(Two college girls discussing their evening TV watching plans)
"Like, I cannot wait for Doctor Quinn!"

(Two college guys, one of them gestures vehemently to the other and shouts)
"I need the money to go to Cuba!!!"

(Three college girls standing in the cafeteria line)
"It was like, total cleaning frenzy coming over Becca!"

Just yesterday we were walking to this teriyaki place and overheard several guys talking. One of them was telling a story to the others. The part we heard was this:

"So then, they threw me in pit with all these staff people. And they said 'Detain this guy!' and I was detained!"

We walked on... It would be nice to know what he was talking about. What pit? What staff people? Who was detaining him, and why? But if we knew, we wouldn't have all the fun of wondering.
