Just Say No to Kites
You thought it would be fun to say
That we should fly a kite today.
You thought it would be fun to do
But let me tell you, I am through!
I will not gets my strings entwined,
I will not snag a power line.
I will not run and jump about,
I will not sulk and cry and pout.
I do not care what you may say,
I will not fly a kite today!
I will not fly it from my car,
I will not fly it in a bar.
I will not fly it in the rain,
I will not fly it from a train.
I will not fly it in the city,
Not even if it's very pretty.
I will not fly it in Peru,
I will not fly it near a zoo.
I will not fly it in a school,
I will not fly it-- I'm no fool!
I will not fly it from a boat,
I will not fly it from a goat!
I will not fly it in a glade,
I will not fly it in the shade.
I will not fly your silly kite,
And woe to those who say I might!
